Condemn/Condemnation

Condemn means “to judge something or someone wrong and deserving of punishment.” People who committed crimes and were caught were condemned to death or thrown in jail. When the prophet Elijah held a contest on Mount Carmel between himself and the prophets of Baal, he knew that King Ahab would condemn him to death if God lost the contest.

The Bible declares that all of us who sinned are condemned and deserving of death. But Jesus died so that we would be declared “not guilty.”
