Devil/Satan

The former angel who is an enemy of God and Christians. He has many names and forms in the Bible: Beelzebub, Abaddon, the great dragon, the Devil, the serpent, and the deceiver. Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness following His baptism. Judas betrayed Jesus after Satan entered into him.

The Bible does not say directly where Satan came from, but he was already in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve were created. Although the serpent is not called Satan, he used that creature to tempt Eve. He does not normally have a physical body.

Satan is the ruler of a kingdom made up of demons. Demons are evil spirits. They are often mentioned in the Bible. The New Testament teaches that Jesus has power over demons and protects His followers from them. At the end of the world, all demons will be destroyed with Satan, their master.
