Ephraim

Manasseh and Ephraim were the sons of Joseph by his wife, Asenath, the daughter of an Egyptian priest. Ephraim was the younger son. When Ephraim’s grandfather, Jacob, was old, he adopted both boys as his own sons. Jacob blessed them, but gave Ephraim the firstborn’s rights, even though Joseph disapproved. Their descendants formed one tribe of Israel.
