Joel

An Old Testament prophet who wrote a short book. No one knows exactly who he was or when he wrote the book. We do know that he wrote about a terrible plague of locusts that had invaded the land, stripping the crops and ruining orchards. Joel told the people that the locusts had come as a punishment because they had not been faithful to God. The most famous part of Joel’s prophecy is a section the apostle Peter quoted on the day of Pentecost: Joel 2:28–32.
