Patmos

The small island where John was exiled about AD 95. The Roman emperor Domitian sent him there because of his Christian faith. While John was there, God sent him remarkable visions. John wrote about these visions in the book of Revelation. The island of Patmos is only about sixteen square miles and is located about thirty-five miles off the coast of Asia Minor (now Turkey). The island is now known as Patino.
