Zephaniah

A prophet and great-grandson of Hezekiah, king of Judah. His prophecies are in the Old Testament book of Zephaniah. He lived in Jerusalem and prophesied in the court of Josiah, king of Judah, between 641 and 609 BC. His prophecies seem to refer to the time before Josiah tried to turn his people back to God. Other prophets during his time included Nahum, Habakkuk, Huldah, and Jeremiah. Zephaniah fearlessly spoke against the evils of his time and told of God’s approaching judgment. His prophecies also spoke of the hope that Israel would be restored as a strong nation.
