The Bible tells us that the Israelites were terrified. Just imagine it: the Egyptians marching after them and the deep sea water in front of them. They had every earthly reason to be afraid! But they had every heavenly reason to have faith in God. God had sent plagues to drive Pharaoh to let them go. God would not let them down now.
[Moses told the people,] “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Ask an adult to help you look up the answers to this question using an atlas or the internet.
Even though the Israelites were afraid, they had enough faith to take those steps through the Red Sea. And they showed their faith in God through the song they sang in worship. Read through the full song of Moses and Miriam from Exodus 15. Make a note of any phrases or lines of the song that stand out to you. Take some time to think about what lines you would write if you were writing a song to praise God for what He’s done for you.
God, even when I’m in hard situations, I know You are faithful. Lead me in the way You want me to go. Amen.
