The problem wasn’t that the people living in the plain in Shinar wanted to build something wonderful. The problem was that they were foolish enough to think that they could reach as high as the Creator. They thought that fame and glory would get them what they wanted, instead of relying on God.
That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.
If you could learn a new language, which one would you want to learn first?
Learn how to write “God loves you” in at least three other languages than the one(s) you know now.
God, help me to glorify You in everything I do and to get rid of any pride in my own knowledge. Amen.
