What’s so difficult about just saying no to the golden bull statue? But King Jeroboam said yes to the bull and no to God. King Jeroboam’s choice cost him dearly. He lost a son and the blessing of the Lord for the rest of his family. He also led Israel to follow false gods, which would bring trouble after trouble for generations to come. Strong faith says yes to God and no to everything else.

Jeroboam’s wife disguised herself so Ahijah wouldn’t recognize her, but her disguise didn’t work because Ahijah could see through it by listening to God. As you interact with people, ask God to help you “see” people clearly so you can get past any ways people are trying to hide themselves; ask God to help you understand what’s true about each person.
