Thought

Isaiah had the courage to volunteer in service to a holy (and scary!) God. Isaiah proved he could take the heat. Gathering the courage to serve God isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.

Word

Isaiah 6:8

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Question

Why do you think the angel touched Isaiah’s lips with a burning coal? Do you think the coal hurt?

Isaiah didn’t mention pain from the experience, but the burning coal was a symbol of cleansing and purification from sin.

Challenge

Isaiah responded, saying he would go, without asking where. Pray and ask God where He would send you to share His message and His love with others. Then tell God you will go for Him.

Prayer

Lord Almighty, give me courage to go where You lead and tell others about Your glory. Amen.
