Daniel had a dream job—that is, a job to interpret a dream of another person. Without God’s help, that would have been impossible. As Jesus once said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God,” (Luke 18:27). However, Daniel and his friends did what they could: prayed with faith. You can’t do miracles on your own—but God listens to His people when they pray (check out James 5:16), and He can do the supernatural!
The king said to Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.”
If you’re like the average person, dreams occur in increments of 10 minutes to as long as an hour (according to the Sleep Foundation).
Each night this week before you go to bed, ask God to speak to you. Ask specifically for the names of people you can encourage with God’s truth. Keep a notepad by your bed and, in the morning, write the names of anyone who comes to mind. Reach out to that person and ask how they are or send that special friend a note as a reminder of God’s love.
Lord God, give me wisdom and insight so I can help those people around me. Amen.
