People followed Jesus and looked to Him for spiritual learning—a kind of spiritual food. But Jesus also wanted to give them physical food. Jesus showed that He had the power and the ability to provide for the needs of thousands of people. He can take the little bit we have to give and make it enough to serve many.
After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

What do you have a little bit of that you’d like to give to Jesus?
When you are a kid, you might feel like you don’t have much to give. Maybe you don’t have much money to spend or possessions you can give away. But when you are young, you often have two things that a lot of adults don’t have: spare time and energy. Think about something you could do for others with your time and energy. Maybe you could rake leaves, shovel snow, or weed a garden for someone who is older. Maybe you could offer to carry packages for someone or take care of their pet when they are away. You might find out that you have much to give!
God, thank You for taking the little bit that I have to offer and making it into something much bigger. Amen.
