Thought

When their herds grew so large that they couldn’t stay in the same land, Abram let his nephew Lot choose what part of the land would be his. Abram was older and the leader of their family, and as such had the right to choose first. But Abram trusted that even if Lot chose first, God would provide for him. And God did!

Word

Genesis 13:14–16 NIV

The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. 16 I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.”

Question

What three things does Genesis 13 tell us that Abram had become wealthy in?

Write down those three things.

Challenge

If you have someone you share space with, make a point to be generous with that space this week. For example, if you share a room with a sibling, you could make sure to clean your area so your sibling has more space. Or if you spend time in a classroom, bring in items for the class to share, such as tissues or pencils.

Prayer

God, You’ve given me everything I have. Thank You for providing for me and my family! Amen.
