Thought

Joshua started off well as a leader: he was filled with the spirit of wisdom from God, so the Israelites listened to him. God spoke to him and encouraged him, telling him to be strong and courageous—not on his own, but because God would be with him and never leave him.

Word

Joshua 1:7 NIV

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.

Question

How old does the Bible say Moses was when he died?

See Deuteronmy 34:7 if you need a hint.

Challenge

Look up Joshua 1:1 to see why some people say Joshua had no parents. (Hint: It’s a Bible joke!)

Prayer

God, I’m grateful for wise leaders who serve You. I pray that the leaders of my country will turn to You to help them serve others well. Amen.
