Thought

Jehosheba kept baby Joash safe from being killed, in hopes of a good future for the boy, for Israel, and for the world. Turns out, Joash was a key part of the line of Jesus. So Jehosheba’s hope will stretch all the way through eternity. A little bit of hope in God goes a long, long way.

Word

Psalm 52:9. NIV

For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.

Question

Have you ever had to be patient on God’s work in your life?

Have you ever had to wait a long time to see how God worked in a situation? Joash remained hidden for six years, and then he became king (at age 7!) and reigned as a godly king for 40 years.

Challenge

Listen to a song that makes you feel hopeful. Think of ways you can keep hope in God alive and strong, even during times of waiting or difficulty.

Prayer

Lord, give me the faith to trust You when my “good” plans are changed. Help me be content when I realize that my timing is not always Your timing. Amen.
