Moses told Korah and his followers to take censers and burn incense in them before the Lord. A censer is a container (usually metal) that is meant for burning incense, normally as part of a religious ceremony. Some are just simple metal containers with holes in them and others have intricate designs. You can create your own version of a censer using aluminum foil, a pencil, tape, and a votive candle holder. Tear off a sheet of aluminum paper that is long enough to go around the circumference of a votive candle holder or a battery operated pretend candle. Fold the aluminum down in half lengthwise, or as needed to make it just a little taller than your candle holder. With a pencil, trace a design on the foil for the whole length of it. Then go back over your pencil drawing, poking holes with your pencil along the lines, leaving about a quarter inch of space between the holes. Finally, wrap the foil around your candle holder and use clear tape at the top and bottom of the foil to tape the ends of the foil together where they meet around the holder. The foil should not be too tight around the holder so that you can remove the candle easily. Remove the foil and light your candle (or turn it on, if it has a battery switch). (Remember to ask a parent before lighting any candles.) Then slip the foil sleeve back over the holder and watch the light flicker through the holes and cast pretty shadows on your walls.
