Thought

When Mary and Joseph came to Bethlehem, they didn’t have much—not even a place to sleep. But in among all the animals, they had the most important thing: the hope of all the world. When the shepherds heard what the angels said about the Messiah, they ran as fast as they could to find the baby Jesus and see this Hope for themselves. And He’s still our hope today! Whenever you are feeling afraid or worried, go as fast as you can to read God’s Word and talk with Jesus. He will be there for you.

Word

Luke 2:10–11 NIV

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

Question

How far did Joseph and Mary travel to get from Nazareth to Bethlehem?

Look at a map and see if you can figure it out. It would have been about as long as an hour-and-a-half car ride. But they traveled the whole way on foot! It probably took Mary and Joseph more than a week to get to their destination.

Reveal Answer

More than 90 miles!
