When Jesus told Nicodemus he needed to be born again, Nicodemus didn’t really understand what Jesus was saying. But Jesus showed Nicodemus that the way to eternal life was only made possible by God’s love and the sacrifice of His only Son. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we can experience salvation and eternal life through God’s love too.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
In Jesus’ talk with Nicodemus, He compares the Spirit with the wind. In your own words, how would you explain how our experience of the wind is like our experience of God’s Spirit?
When He is talking with Nicodemus, Jesus mentions a story about Moses lifting a snake in the wilderness. Go find that story and see if you can understand why Jesus made this connection with a story about a snake. (Hint: Look in Numbers 21.)
