Thought

Elisha must have had a mix of emotions when his mentor, Elijah, was taken away in the fiery chariot. First, he was probably awed by the greatness of the Lord. Second, he was likely grieving the loss of his friend. He must have also been excited to have the mantle that represented God’s blessing of power. But finally, he might have felt a bit jealous that Elijah went to be with God. We can all long and hope for the time when we can be with God forever.
