A pinch of flour + a teaspoon of oil + trust in God = a miracle of provision. You can trust God to take whatever you give Him and make something good from it.

Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
Check out Luke 4 and find out what He said.
What kind of bread could you make with just a little flour and water and oil?
Many different cultures have breads or cakes that they eat that would use these ingredients. Experiment with the ingredients and see what you can make.
Step 1:
Ask a parent before using the stove.
Step 2:
Mix about a cup of flour, about ¾ tablespoon of oil, and a pinch of salt (the widow may have used salt water in her recipe, since Zarephath was a seaport) in a bowl with your fingers.
Step 3:
Slowly add a little water (about ¼ cup) to the mixture and keep mixing it with your hands until a dough starts to form. If it’s too dry and crumbles apart, add a few more drops of water. If it’s very sticky, add just a tiny bit more flour until it feels right.
Step 4:
Cover it up in plastic wrap or with a cloth and clean up your mess. After about half an hour, form the dough into a log shape and slice it into inch-thick slices.
Step 5:
Roll each slice out with a roller until it is very flat and thin.
Step 6:
Ask a parent to help you put a little more oil in a frying pan and let it get hot. Take one of your rolled slices and put it in the pan. Cook it for a minute or so on one side and then flip it over for another minute until it gets a little brown.
Step 7:
Do the same thing for each cake and then turn your stove off and let your pan cool down.
Step 8:
Taste your Zarephath cakes and see what you think!
Dear God, help me to trust You even when I can’t see a way out of trouble. Amen.
