Paul was once again in a Roman prison, waiting to be executed. But while he waited, he wrote his final letters encouraging the people he addressed to hold on to their faith tightly. Paul told his friend Timothy that he wasn’t afraid of death, because he had done what God called him to do and kept his faith strong. Even today, no matter what we’re facing, God’s faithfulness is something we can put our faith in, because He is greater than any fear or trouble.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
What did those people do that made a difference in your life?
If you were imprisoned and had a chance to tell people one last thing about God, what would it be? Write it down and pretend you are sharing it with others. Then reach out to someone who needs to hear those words and tell that person what you wrote.
God, thank You that we can have faith in You through our whole lives. Help me hold firm to my faith and be a strong soldier for You. Amen.
