King Darius could recognize evil when it affected him. Darius didn’t want to lose his number-one advisor because of the jealousy of the satraps. He could see the difference in Daniel’s faithful life. The king even prayed right before Daniel was thrown to the lions, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” (Daniel 6:16). He could see the truth and greatness of God, even though he hadn’t begun to follow Him. If we are faithful, others will see the difference God makes in our lives and consider that God just might be real.
