Thought

An expert in the law accused Paul before the governor Felix. Felix kept Paul in prison for two years, and when Governor Festus came to power, Paul shared about Jesus with him too. Finally, he told his story to King Herod Agrippa, but because Paul had appealed to Caesar, he had to go to Rome. Even though the rulers could have hurt or killed him, Paul was bold and told them God’s truth. We may not ever have to face a king, but we can have courage in sharing about what Jesus means to us.

Word

Ephesians 6:19–20 NIV

Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

What do you know about the way court trials run today? Do you think trials were different in the Bible? If you were on trial for Jesus, would you defend your faith boldly?

Challenge

Imagine you’re on trial for your faith in Jesus. What would you share as your testimony? Paul shared his testimony of how his life was changed. Share your story with someone this week.

Prayer

God, thank You for giving us the courage to share our stories and Your story. Amen.
