Thought

Whenever people are in need, they often look around for someone to blame for what they lack. The Israelites were no different. They grew tired of manna, even though it had kept them alive a long while in the desert, and they complained and wished for meat. But we often wish for things that are not what’s best for us, instead of trusting God.

Word

Numbers 11:23 NIV

The Lord answered Moses, “Is the Lord’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you.”

Question

Have you ever thought you wanted Something and then were disappointed when you got it?

Or have you ever wanted a treat and then eaten too much of it once you had it? What happened? Tell a friend or family member about that time.

With your parents’ permission, try eating the exact same food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a whole week. Choose something simple like peanut butter sandwiches or toast and scrambled eggs. Record what you eat through the week and how you feel about it. Do your feelings change from day 1 to day 7? Record your thoughts.

Prayer

God, I’m so thankful for this world You made for us and for how You provide for us all. You are amazing! Amen.
