David and Ish-Bosheth trusted their military leaders to help them win battles. Some of those men were loyal, like Asahel. Others, like Abner, were not. Often, people are loyal only to themselves, but God is always trustworthy and good to His people.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.
What does it mean to you for someone to be a loyal friend?
It’s easier to trust those who show they are loyal to us. Plan to perform an act of loyalty for a friend or family member. If they are in a competition, playing a sport, acting in a play, or taking a hard test, cheer them on through encouraging words. You could even make a poster to show your support!
Dear Lord, thank You that I can trust in You always. Help me be a trustworthy friend to others. Amen.
