After Stephen’s death, the disciples began to be persecuted in Jerusalem, so many believers scattered to the surrounding areas. One day an angel told Philip to go on a certain road, and when Philip obeyed, he met an important man who was trying to understand one of Isaiah’s prophecies. He talked with the man and showed him how all Scripture pointed to Jesus as the Messiah, and the man believed and was baptized! Faith is more than just belief in Jesus; it’s about following His direction.
Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
