David’s heart was in the right place. He wanted the ark to have a wonderful resting place. Even though David was willing to do the work to build a temple, he was content when his advisor told him God said no. David had faith that God would have a temple built at the right time. Faith is being content to wait for God’s leading.

Lord, give me the faith to trust You when my “good” plans are changed. Help me be content when I realize that my timing is not always Your timing. Amen.
