From young shepherd boy to warrior to king, David honored God. He had great faith during his 40 years as king of Israel. The prophet Samuel even said that David was “a man after [God’s] own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14). People of faith like David seek to know God their whole lives.
The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
