Thought

Paul and Barnabas started for home, but first they returned to the cities they had preached at previously. They prayed and fasted over every church, trusting God to guide the church leaders. When they got to Antioch, they gave a report to the church there and spent time with the disciples. But then some people came from Judea claiming that the Gentile believers should follow Jewish law in order to be Christians. The disciples needed to seek God’s wisdom once again in the discussion ahead, just as we need His wisdom in our tough conversations.

Word

Galatians 5:25–26 NIV

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Question

Did you know there were two places called Antioch in the book of Acts?

The Antioch where the church sent Paul and Barnabas was in Syria, just north of Israel, and the Antioch that is mentioned in their travels was in Asia Minor, in what we know as Turkey today. Look at a map to understand more about where Paul traveled.

Challenge

Ask a leader in your church whether your church supports any missionaries. If so, ask how you can pray for them. Write down their prayer requests and pray for missionaries around the world. Pray and ask God how you can share His message wherever you are.

Prayer

God, please give me wisdom to know what You require. Amen.
