Rahab hid the two Israelites from her king because she knew that the Lord God was real and stronger than any earthly king. Her courage in risking her life to save the men allowed her to save her whole household and to eventually become part of the nation of Israel and an ancestor of Jesus. Her courage didn’t come from her own strength, from the respect of her position, or from her value in her society, because she had none of those things. The people’s courage had failed, but her courage came from believing in the God of heaven and earth.
