Jesus told a story about a widow who begged the town’s judge for justice. But that judge didn’t care about what God or anyone else said, and every time she came to him, he sent her away without hearing her case. But finally, he gave her the justice she was asking for so she would leave him alone. Jesus taught us that our heavenly Father is much better than this judge, because He gives us justice quickly and loves us always!
Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow.
Justice is a word people talk about a lot these days. What are some stories you’ve heard in which people have asked for justice to be done? What occupations do you usually think of when you hear the word justice?
