When they left Philippi, Paul and his friends came to Thessalonica. Just like so many times before, many people believed their message, but some Jewish leaders didn’t like what they heard, so they chased Paul out of the city. Paul, Silas, and Timothy went to another city and preached the gospel, but their enemies followed them from Thessalonica. Paul moved on to Athens, and later wrote two letters to the Thessalonian Christians. Like Paul, we can serve in any circumstance.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
When Paul came preaching about Jesus, they thought Jesus was just another of their gods! But Paul shared the truth about Jesus.
Paul wrote a letter to encourage the Christians in Thessalonica. Use a pen and paper to write a letter encouraging Christians. What encouragement do Christians today need to hear? What do they need to remember about God? Write it down and pray for Christians around the world.
God, please help me serve You and others, even when others have a hard time believing or give me a hard time for believing in You. Amen.
