Ananias of Damascus

A Jewish Christian who lived in Damascus. After Saul met the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus, he became blind and was led into Damascus. Three days later, God spoke to Ananias, telling him where to find Saul and saying that he should lay his hands on Saul so that his eyesight would be restored. Ananias was afraid because he had heard that Saul persecuted Christians. However, he obeyed God, and Saul was healed.
