Ark, Noah’s

The boat God told Noah to build so he could escape the coming flood. Noah was five hundred years old when he built the ark. The boat was like a huge barge made of gopher wood. It was 450 feet long (longer than a football field), 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. It had three decks or levels—big enough to hold pairs of every type of animal. After the floodwaters receded, the ark came to rest on Mount Ararat in present-day Turkey.
