Asia Minor

Usually refers to a Roman province that included the western section of Asia Minor (now Turkey). But the cities of Asia Minor include those in Anatolia (Troas, Ephesus, Miletus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Sardis, Thyatira, Philadelphia, Alexandria, Lystra, Derbe, Assos, Patara, Colossae, Attalia, Antioch, Iconium, and Tarsus). Paul visited this area on two of his missionary journeys and helped begin churches in several of its cities. The book of Revelation was written to churches in Asia.
