Beautiful Gate

Probably the eastern gate to the temple in Jerusalem. It was beautifully crafted of Corinthian bronze, and it opened into the temple’s Court of Women. Peter and John healed a paralyzed man outside the Beautiful Gate. 659 and Acts 3:2–10.

Belshazzar The last king of Babylon in the family line of King Nebuchadnezzar. Belshazzar did not worship God. At one of his feasts in 539 BC, he praised the idols of gold, silver, bronze, and iron because he drank from cups stolen from the Jerusalem temple. As Belshazzar drank with his thousand guests, a hand appeared on the wall and wrote strange words. Daniel explained what the words meant. That very night, the writing came true. Belshazzar was killed, and his kingdom was taken over by the Medes and Persians.
