Bethlehem

Best known as Jesus’s birthplace and the hometown of King David. The Old Testament prophet Micah predicted the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. The angels announced Jesus’s birth to the shepherds outside the town. All male babies two years old or younger around Bethlehem were sentenced to death by jealous King Herod, who wanted to kill the new king of the Jews. Ruth, Boaz, and Naomi lived in Bethlehem long before Jesus.
