Blood
Considered to be the basis of life, both in people and in animals. Therefore, God commanded the Israelites to avoid eating meat without draining the blood from it. Blood represented life, and therefore it was needed for forgiveness of sins. The Israelites offered animal sacrifices to God as He commanded. But when Jesus died, He became the final sacrifice for our sins. The phrase “blood of Jesus” refers to His giving His life so that our sins can be forgiven and we can be saved.
