Cities of Refuge

A place where a person who killed someone by accident could run and avoid being put to death before a trial could take place. The law of Moses named six cities of refuge: Shechem, Hebron, Kedesh, Ramoth, Bezer, and Golan. Three were located on one side of the Jordan and three on the other side.
