Colossians, book of

A letter written by the apostle Paul to the church in Colossae. Paul was probably in prison in Rome when he wrote this letter about the year AD 61. Epaphras, who had helped begin the church there, had visited Paul and told him of some of the wrong ideas being taught there. Paul wrote this letter to help the Christians understand God’s truths. Paul included practical advice in this letter to the Christians about how to live for Christ in the society of their day.
