Covenant

A special agreement in which both sides (God and a person or two people) decide on an action. God made a covenant with Noah to never again destroy the earth by flood. Jonathan and David made a covenant of friendship. God also made a covenant with David that David’s kingdom would last forever. Jesus brought about a “new covenant”—the forgiveness of sins through His death. Those who believe in Jesus are to remember Jesus’s death by taking Communion.
