Daniel

A wise prophet who is best known for being thrown into a den of lions when he refused to stop worshipping God. Daniel also was a high government official. In 605 BC, Daniel was a young man when Babylon defeated his nation, Judah. Daniel and many others were taken from Judah to Babylon. Daniel’s gift for interpreting dreams was put to the test twice when Nebuchadnezzar had troubling dreams. After Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Daniel was called upon to interpret a mysterious message for Belshazzar, the next king.

When the Medes and Persians conquered the Babylonians, Daniel became an adviser to Darius. But envious coworkers plotted to get rid of Daniel. They persuaded Darius to make a law that Daniel broke. As a result, he was thrown into a den of lions, but God protected him.
