Ezekiel, book of

Written while Ezekiel lived in exile in Babylon (after 597 BC). The book of Ezekiel contains many visions and word pictures of God and the temple. Ezekiel foretells the destruction of Jerusalem (chapters 4–5); describes Ezekiel’s vision of the sinful worship practices in the temple (chapters 8–11); and proclaims God’s judgment on false prophets and His people (chapters 1–24), as well as other nations (chapters 25–32).
