Frankincense

A sweet-smelling perfume made from the sap that comes from a terebinth tree in northern India and Arabia. These trees grow in warm, dry places. When a cut is made in its bark, a resin comes out that is used in incense. It was used in the tabernacle and the temple. The wise men brought a gift of frankincense to Jesus when He was a child. The Israelites used frankincense in worship ceremonies.
