Gad

The prophet who helped David during most of his life. Usually court prophets prophesied only good things to their king. But Gad delivered God’s message to David whether it was good news or bad. Gad once gave David advice on how to escape when Saul was trying to kill him. When David angered God by counting his fighting men, Gad brought God’s message of punishment to David. Gad was also a musician and a writer who helped David arrange musical services for the temple. He wrote a history of David’s reign in Israel.
