Galilee

The northern province of Israel in Jesus’s day. Jesus grew up in Nazareth, a city of Galilee, and preached His first sermon in the synagogue there. Almost all of His disciples were from Galilee. The southern part of Galilee, where Jesus grew up, had more cities and people than the northern part. Southern Galilee had a mild climate that was good for farming. Olive trees grew in the northern part.
