Gleaning

Going into the fields after the main harvesting to find whatever grain is left. In Old Testament law, farmers were told they should let the poor come into their fields and glean the remaining grain. Ruth gleaned grain in the field of Boaz to find food for her mother-in-law, Naomi, and for herself.
