Gold

Gold was valuable in early times just as it is now. In Bible times gold was used for jewelry, as money, and to decorate fine furniture, pottery, spoons, and other household things. But its main use was in decorating palaces and temples and the things used inside them. Gold was a gift fit for a king. When the wise men visited the child Jesus, they brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The heavenly city in the apostle John’s vision of heaven had walls made of gold.
