Haran

A city in northern Mesopotamia. Abraham buried his father, Terah, here after their family left the city of Ur. In this city Abraham’s brother, Nahor, decided to stay while Abraham set off for Canaan. Later Abraham sent his servant to find a wife for his son Isaac among his relatives there. Still later, Isaac’s son Jacob fled to Haran and met his wives there.
