Isaiah

An Old Testament prophet who is quoted more times in the New Testament than all other prophets combined. Many of the Old Testament prophecies about Jesus Christ are in the book of Isaiah. We do not know much about the prophet Isaiah except that he prophesied from 740 to 680 BC during the reign of four kings of Judah—Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. He was married to a female prophet whose name we don’t know. They had two sons. Isaiah warned the people that God was more interested in right living than in animal sacrifices.
